Emails from AFL Punters
"I just had a quick look thru my records
regarding underdogs and line betting for AFL this year.
Based on an underdog with a minimum price
of $3.00 and an overlay, the record for covering the line
is 12-5 this year. Quite impressive."
"Last year I paid big money to get the
"insiders" AFL predictions. But throughout the whole
year I didn't gain a thing. Lost lots of money. I came to
Sportpunter the next year and have seen my bank more than
double, almost triple in fact and it's only three quarters
of the season. How do you keep coming up with these great
bets?"
"have noticed that the AFL is going extremely
well. I was able to secure the double on TAB of Brisbane/Kangaroos
which paid quite well. As both teams were selected within
2 goals of the actual result !!!! Lets hope this can continue
. Go the Bombers this week !! And hopefully my team Richmond
can get up against an over rated Collingwood side. "
"Jonathan and list members, I have been
looking into the AFL numbers/bets and have noticed that by
betting level stakes of $100 on all overlays (no min/max)
has resulted in a bank of $2950 to date using the odds I get
when I place bets. This compares with my full Kelly bank of
$1815 which has an average bet of $152. Therefore level stakes
appears to be a viable/profitable betting option for those
who do not like volatility of Kelly betting. Will do a similar
comparison for tennis when I get the chance.
Thanks for all your work, it is much appreciated.
"
"My only bet in the AFL round 2 was 26%
of bank on the Roos. The Pies would have been a plunge had
better prices been available. Up 118% after these 2 incredible
rounds."
"Entered your figures into
my database for the last 2 seasons of AFL and my results pretty
much confirmed your good statistics.
Using an overlay cutoff of 10% and betting
to win a fixed amount per bet returned as follows :
2001 : 17% profit on turnover
2002 : 14% profit on turnover
Both years together : 16% profit on turnover
I dont like Kelly betting and simply
bet to win fixed amount per bet. Figures like 17% in a season
are fairly impressive over the course of a whole season. "
"Thanks Jonathan, I was
fortunate enough to return 134% on the AFL by keeping bets
to 17% plus on overlays as mentioned on the Swinburne uni
site.
Only lost on Kanga's over 39.5. Keep up the
good work."
"Too right, the Roos were
well predicted, it was an 'easy' win for the computer.
Same with the Swans.... despite talk of Sydney
being a contender for the wooden spoon by some, I stuck with
the computer predictions and reaped the rewards.
With those two, plus Collingwood on Friday,
I'm up 66% already. Little wonder I don't try to outsmart
computer predictions!"
