1) Never bet on the underdog

"thought my experience might be helpful to others

I Have Been following Jonathans' predictions since last year (when it was still on the swin site) and have produced a constant return by betting on both men's and women(about 7% combined on turnover but the % increase in bank puts to shame my other "legitimate" investments i.e. shares, managed funds)

I do not spend a great deal of time searching for odds (about 5 bookies) and do not pay any attention to player injures, nights on the piss chasing Anna K etc. if there is an overlay there between 7% and 34% and the player has played 10 games I bet.

With regards to the overlays my reasoning is

1) If I can find a bookie that puts an overlay over 7% I bet

2) If one of the bookies puts the player over 34% I pass

Hope this is helpful to those that do not have time to do research into players and look for the best odds or a new to the group.

Just a quick mail to let you know how things have gone for me this week.
After your suggestions I decided on a betting strategy using 7-25% overlay on games which qualified with a 10+ games/player on surface. I used a two tier system using half Kelly for 10-20% overlay and quarter Kelly between 7-10% and 20-25% overlay. This approach produced 19 bets for the week with 14 winners and 5 losers. It produced a 27% increase on the betting bank.
I compared this with using full Kelly throughout and the difference was appreciable, it produced 122% increase on the betting bank over the same bets. First question I have - Is this an exceptional week or what?

I wondered if you could help me with a question please?

I have been placing bets of £150 on all overlays between 7 and 34% when the win chance is 30% or over and both players have played 10 games or more on the surface, and am making a tidy profit... (over £700 this week alone!!)

Do you have any comments on using a flat stake such as this on every bet? (e.g. in this case £150) I calculate I should still win in the long run, is my thinking correct ??

Also, Will you only be able to calculate the winning probabilities of players whilst you are at Uni (i.e. using their facilities) or can you calculate them independently??

Ha ha , what I am really asking is how long can you produce these great stats???!!? LOL
